South Reno's Foothill Communities

ArrowCreek, St. James's Village, Galena, Montreux — the foothills south of Reno are where the region's true custom homes get built. We build here: our ground-up custom home at Indigo Run stands inside ArrowCreek's gates. Licensed and bonded to a $7.9M-per-project limit — capacity most residential contractors don't carry. Start with your community below.

The communities

ArrowCreek. Guard-gated, 3,200 acres, two championship courses, ~575 custom homesites. We’ve built inside these gates. See our ArrowCreek page →

St. James’s Village. Gated and forested — 1,600 acres at the end of Joy Lake Road, 522 homesites with designated building envelopes. Dedicated page coming soon.

Galena Forest. Mature pines and larger lots off the Mount Rose Highway. An older generation of custom homes — prime territory for major remodels and fire-hardening.

Montreux. Gated golf community around a Jack Nicklaus Signature course. Strict design standards, serious snow-country construction.

Plus the corridor between them — Saddlehorn, Callahan Ranch, Timberline — where many of the region’s best unbuilt lots still hide.

What building here takes

Every community on this page shares five realities:

  • Slope and granite — site work is half the project

  • Fire country — defensible space and ignition-resistant construction keep homes insurable

  • Washoe County permits — not City of Reno

  • Community design review — design to the guidelines from day one

  • Elevation weather — snow loads, wind, 40-degree daily swings

We build for all five. See the proof at Indigo Run, our ground-up custom home inside ArrowCreek.
